The Taguig police nabbed a man tagged as the No. 5 most wanted person for estafa and falsification of public documents on June 13.
The suspect was identified as alias Julius, 52, sales agent, and a resident of Mandaluyong City. He was arrested at the parking lot of Rockwell Center in Poblacion, Makati City.
Julius was apprehended based on two warrants of arrest. The first warrant with no bail recommended was for syndicated estafa under the Revised Penal Code issued on May 21 by Presiding Judge Mariam Bien of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 153.
The second warrant of arrest with a recommended bail of P60,000 was for falsification of public documents issued on Nov. 19 last year by Presiding Judge Alberto Azarcon III of the Makati Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 63.
The arrest was executed by the combined efforts of Taguig police’s Intelligence Section, Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Warrant Section.
The suspect was turned over to the Taguig police’s custodial facility pending issuance of a commitment order from the courts.
Brig. Gen. Joseph Arguelles, acting district director of the Southern Police District, commended the operation by the police.
“This is a message to all who continue to prey on others through deception and fraud: you will be found, and you will be held accountable. Our efforts to maintain peace and order will not falter,” he said.
