Mother, son dead after being run over by truck in Makati

A mother and her 15-year-old son died after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a truck and they were run over in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City, on Saturday, June 14.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the victims as “Rhecy,” 40, and “Jade,” 15.

Authorities said the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. while both the motorcycle and the truck were traveling along the northbound lane of the Buendia-Osmeña Flyover, from A. Arnaiz Avenue toward Zobel Roxas Street.

Upon reaching the flyover, the front right side of the truck collided with the left side of the motorcycle.

Due to the impact, the victims lost control of the motorcycle, causing them to fall on the road, where the truck’s rear right tire ran over the driver’s lower body and the back rider’s head.

The victims sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, while the truck driver is under the custody of the Makati City Police Station.
