CAMP Marcelo Adduru, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police recovered two sacks of suspected shabu floating on the shoreline of Barangay Centro 6, Claveria, Cagayan, on Sunday, June 15.
Two fishermen found the contraband and turned them over to the local police led by Police Major Mario Maragun.
Authorities conducted an inventory and marking of the pieces of evidence in the presence of barangay officials, media representatives, and Erwin Geron Sr., assistant provincial prosecutor.
Initial examination revealed that their contents are white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
These are currently in the custody of the Claveria police station and will be turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Regional Office 2 for thorough examination and formal documentation.
Police Brig. Gen. Antonio Marallag Jr., Police Regional Office-2 chief, lauded the people and lawmen for securing the illegal drug.
Police are investigating the source and if they are related to those found in the Ilocos region recently.
