According to a media bulletin from the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Duterte arrived back on Saturday, June 14, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) around 5:43 a.m. via Philippine Airlines flight PR 530.
“The Vice President is scheduled to attend the 2025 PASIDUNGOG awarding ceremony in Davao City on Monday, 16 June 2025,” the bulletin read.
Senators Imee Marcos and Robin Padilla, two of the 18 senator-judges who voted to remand the articles of impeachment against the Vice President to the House of Representatives, were with her in Malaysia.
During a speech there, Duterte likened the presidential sister to a “hostage” as she cannot return to the Marcos family unless she brings former president Rodrigo Duterte back home.
The former chief executive is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands after he was arrested on March 11 on the basis of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the charges of crimes against humanity of murder.
The Vice President, on the other hand, is facing an impeachment complaint owing to a death threat she made against President Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez in November last year, as well as betrayal of public trust and the alleged misuse of the controversial public funds.
