BACOLOD CITY – A 15-year-old boy who was hit by stray bullets in a shooting incident that targeted an alleged drug personality in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, this city, on Wednesday, June 11, has passed away.
Police Major Rondyl Tapang, head of Police Station 3, confirmed on Saturday, June 14, the death of the teenage victim in a hospital.
Tapang said the victim, a bystander in a basketball court, sustained two bullet wounds in the body when a certain Alvin, 33, was shot by a lone gunman.
Alvin sustained minor injuries and was discharged from a hospital a day after the incident, Tapang said.
Tapang said a misunderstanding allegedly stemming from illegal drugs triggered the attack against Alvin.
He said that Alvin and the gunman were allegedly involved in illegal drugs.
Alvin was previously charged for drug offenses while the suspect had a previous case for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, according to Tapang.
Tapang said that the minor’s family is pressing charges against the suspect.
