Maj. Loreto Tigno, chief of the Pasig City Police Station-Investigation Management Section, said the operation was conducted in Barangay Pinagbuhatan on Friday, June 13, after authorities received information about the alleged illegal activities of the suspect, identified as Mark.
He said the suspect agreed to meet the poseur buyer for the sale of a .45-caliber firearm worth P21,000. However, instead of handing over the gun after receiving the money, the suspect fired at the buyer.
The poseur buyer managed to escape, while backup officers responded and returned fire. The suspect was brought to the hospital, where he was later declared dead.
Authorities also discovered that prior to the operation, the suspect and an accomplice had robbed a seller during a meetup arranged online to buy mobile phones worth P81,516.
