Las Pinas City Mayor-elect April Aguilar led the signing of the pledge of commitment to quality education and to fully equip public schools to address the needs of learners and their teachers.
Aguilar acknowledged the importance of collaboration between the government, schools, and the community in ensuring that Las Piñas learners are equipped with strong literacy foundations.
The city government of Las Pinas started the Brigada Eskwela campaign at the Las Pinas Elementary School Central in Elias Aldana last Tuesday, June 10.
The event was attended by stakeholders from various sectors, including local government officials, partner organizations, and school personnel, who pledged their commitment to support the public school system through volunteerism, resource mobilization, and active participation in school readiness activities.
The program was highlighted by the signing of the Pledge of Commitment and the awarding of certificates to institutional partners who have continuously supported Brigada Eskwela through the years.
Aguilar said the Brigada Eskwela week-long event that concludes on Friday, June 13, remains an essential program of the Department of Education that harnesses community involvement to prepare schools for the upcoming academic year while strengthening advocacy for quality basic education.
