Officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) have met to decide on the next steps they must take, including the issuance of a travel advisory, after Israel's attacks on Iran's nuclear and missile sites.

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega said while the Philippines is not deploying Filipino workers in Iran, they are working on the government's next step to ensure the safety of Filipinos in the foreign country.
[I]yong aming officials ay nakikipagpulong kung ano ang next step ‘no, kung gagawa tayo ng travel advisory or anything kasi right now, hindi naman tayo nagpapadala ng OFWs sa mga bansa doon (Our officials are now holding meeting to discuss what step to take next, if we will issue a travel advisory or anything because right now, we are not sending overseas Filipino workers in these countries), De Vega said in a Bagong Pilpinas Ngayon interview on Friday, June 13.
De Vega was referring to Iran and Iraq, which only have about 4,000 Filipinos.
There are only 2,000 Filipinos in Iran...Ang mga Pilipino sa Iran ay mga Pilipina na kasal sa Iranian, so Iranian citizens ang mga iyan. So, mas malaki ang responsibility, obviously, ng Iranian government sa kanila (Filipinos in Iran are mostly Filipinas married to Iranian, so they are already Iranian citizens. So, the Iranian government, obviously, has bigger responsibility over them), De Vega said.
The DFA executive said they continue to monitor the situation in Iran, including the possibility of retaliation on the part of Iran to Israel, which is a home to 50,000 Filipinos.
De Vega also said that they are concerned about the possibility of Iraq being the next target. Iraq is also home to less than 2,000 Filipinos.
This, he said, prompted the Philippine Embassy there to issue an advisory to Filipinos.
Iyong Iraq, siyempre nababahala rin baka sila naman ang susunod kaya mayroong advisory. E, kakaunti rin ang Pilipino sa Iraq kasi hindi naman tayo nagdi-deploy sa Iraq ngayon. Siguro mga less than 2,000 (We are, of course, concerned about Iraq because they might be targeted next. We only have a few Filipinos in Iraq because we are not deploying workers there. We have less than 2,000), De Vega said.
The DFA official said Philippine embassies in Iraq, Iran, and Israel stand ready to provide shelter to Filipinos who may be affected by the attacks.

The DFA said there is no report of any Filipino hurt or injured in the operations.
So far, the DFA has not received reports of any Filipino hurt, injured or otherwise affected as a result of the operations,” the DFA said in a statement.
It also expressed that the Philippines is gravely concerned over heightened tensions in the Middle East region following Israel’s airstrikes on Iran.
It urged the concerned countries to deescalate and follow the path of peace.
With the welfare of the people of the Middle East and the Filipinos there in mind, the Philippines urges concerned countries to deescalate and follow the path of peace, the DFA said.
It added that the Philippine embassies in the region stand ready to assist Filipinos in their jurisdictions.
