Aribado dominated in her second-round duel against South Korea’s Chaewon Song, 12-10, 11-8, 11-9, to advance to the women’s quarters where she squares off with another Korean in Hwayeong Eum.
Eum, for her part, took an early bye in the opener then toppled Malaysian Whitney Isabelle Wilson (12-10, 7-11, 12-10, 11-8) in the second round.
The seasoned Filipina hitter also earned a bye in the first round of the four-day long competition.
Meanwhile, Begornia survived hometown bet Shamiel Haeyzad in the second round, 11-8, 5-11, 6-11, 11-9, 11-3, to book his quarters ticket.
Begornia is set to challenge Canadian Karim Aquib, who thwarted Egypt’s Yassin Shohdy via a 12-14, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-9 win.
The Taytay, Rizal native also had a first-round bye.
