Another pack of floating shabu valued at P6.8 million was recovered in the West Philippine Sea in Ilocos Norte.
The contraband was found by a fisherman in Barangay Callaguip, Paoay, on Friday, June 13, one day after a pack of shabu was recovered in nearby Barangay Pangil, Currimao, on Thursday, June 12.
Police Col. Frederick E. Obar, Ilocos Norte police director, said the fisherman, 49, was gathering firewood on the seashore at about 6:30 a.m. when he noticed a package with durian markings and Chinese characters.
The fisherman reported his discovery to authorities and examination and evaluation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Ilocos Norte said the item was shabu weighing one kilogram with a standard drug price of P6.8 million.
