BACOLOD CITY – A 59-year-old woman was killed and two minors, including her eight-year-old grandson, were injured after they were hit by a wayward truck in Hacienda Aimee, Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, June 10.

The fatality was identified as Elizabeth, a resident of Barangay Tinampa-an.
Police Lt. Lovella Cordova, deputy chief of the Cadiz City Police Station, said the victim was accompanying her grandson in buying ice cream from a 17-year-old vendor on the roadside when a truck hit them before crashing into Elizabeth’s house.
Cordova said the 23-year-old truck driver alleged that he lost control due to a malfunctioning steering wheel.
Elizabeth passed away in a hospital while her grandson is recuperating in a private hospital here. The ice cream vendor sustained minor injuries.
The truck driver was unharmed, according to Cordova.
