The driver, who reportedly fled, was meted a 90-day suspension and was asked to explain why his license should not be revoked for reckless driving.
“You are hereby ordered to show cause in writing, within 10 days from your receipt of this order, why your driver's license should not be cancelled, or revoked, and/or why appropriate fines and penalties should not be imposed upon you, for your vicarious liability arising from the acts,” the show-cause order issued by LTO-8 Regional Director Ledwino Macariola said.
Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle was allegedly traveling fast towards the Tacloban DZR Airport in Barangay 88 when the driver lost control and rammed a street solar light pole.
LTFRB-8 Regional Director Gualberto Gualberto said he will also issue a preventive suspension against the operator of the transport company plying the route.
