Dalipe urges Zamboanga City residents to become modern-day heroes

Dalipe, speaking during the commemoration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day celebration with the theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” at Rizal Park here,
described independence as a continuous pursuit of liberty, justice, and progress.
He reminded the people to always guard and preserve freedom even in their daily lives. “We are all guardians of this freedom,“ the local chief executive stressed.
The event started with a flag-raising ceremony followed by wreath-laying at the Rizal Monument, a symbolic gesture in honor of the country’s national heroes.
The event was also participated in by Police Col. Fidel Fortaleza Jr., Zamboanga City police chief; Councilor Jordan Evangelista, Association of Barangay Captains president; representatives from the Western Mindanao Command, Naval Forces Western Mindanao, and Philippine Air Force, and city government officials.
