- A drug group leader and three others were arrested in Imus City during a buy-bust operation that yielded illegal drugs and a firearm.
CAVITE – Authorities arrested the leader of the Zamora Drug Group and three of his accomplices during a buy-bust operation in Imus City on Tuesday, June 10.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office (Cavite PPO) identified the drug group leader as alias Jerome. Also arrested were alias Lea and alias Jason, both high-value individuals, and alias Orland, a street-value individual.
Confiscated during the joint operation conducted by the Cavite PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Imus Component City Police Station were 65 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P442,000.
Seized from alias Orland’s possession, meanwhile, were a gun, a magazine, and ammunition.
The suspects are now in the custody of the Imus CCPS and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, alias Orland, also faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Lt. Col. Chester Noel Borlongan, Cavite PPO Provincial Intelligence Unit chief, credited the operation's success to thorough intelligence gathering and coordination among units under Police Regional Office 4A.
Cavite PPO acting director Col. Dwight E. Alegre, meanwhile, commended all the operating units.
“Ang pagkakadakip sa lider ng isang drug group ay malaking hakbang para sa kaligtasan ng ating mga komunidad. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang kampanya kontra ilegal na droga sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas (The arrest of the leader of a drug group is a significant step toward ensuring the safety of our communities. We will continue to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative),” Alegre said in a statement.
