After hailing its first winners last February, Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global is making a remarkable step in showcasing the shared culture and roots of the Chinese and the Filipinos.

- Mikko Araneta, who serves as the Executive Director of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global, announced their partnership with Virtual Playground as official franchise holder of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Philippines.
During a special event held at the Red Carpet Cinema in Shangri-La Plaza last June 7, Mikko Araneta, who serves as the Executive Director of the pageant, announced their partnership with Virtual Playground.
"To make our year 2 more successful and possible, we actually partnered with a reputable institution, one that can deliver based on their strong portfolio of talents. As well as the capability to make their talents grow, we are happy to introduce the man behind the virtual playground Mr. Charlie Dy, who will be in charge of the first Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Philippines," Mikko said.
Virtual Playground will handle the local pageant, which selects representatives who will compete internationally against other Huaren contestants from around the world for Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Year 2.
"It is a great honor for us at Virtual Playground Co. to take on this meaningful role. As we embark on this journey, we are committed to uplifting the Chinoy community by celebrating individuals who carry with them the pride, heritage, and potential of Chinese-Filipino excellence," Charlie said.
Aside from the new partnership, Chinoy TV announced an upcoming documentary titled "Chinese by Blood, Global by Heart," which will feature the stories of the candidates of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Year 1.
The event also featured the launch of Hua Magazine.
The Journey of the newly crowned Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global
Making their way onto the Philippine stage by highlighting the culture and heritage of their Chinese-Filipino community, the media people also had the chance to ask questions to the winners of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Year 1.
Present during the event were Byron Sng (Mr. Chinatown Global 2025) from Malaysia, Khryss Go (Ms. Chinatown Global 2025), Aragon Lor (Mr. Chinatown Global 2025 1st Runner up), Juliette Louie (Ms. Chinatown Global 2025 1st Runner Up), Joseph Morris (Mr. Chinatown Global 2025 2nd Runner up) and Jenina Lui (Ms. Chinatown Global 2025 2nd Runner-Up).
"This title has shaped me to become a more confident person and be proud of my identity. No matter where I am or whenever I am, I will always keep that in mind and share my culture and how proud I am of my identity," Byron shared.
Meanwhile, Khryss shared that they've been participating in outreach programs, and she is proud to represent the crown.
"For me, even if I'm not with the organization, they always ask me how the pageant has helped me and my answer being able to promote our heritage is a huge thing for us because we're always looked at as minorities. But through this pageant, we are celebrating our identity and embracing it," Khryss said.
