Police Major Joeil Reclamado, head of Police Station 5, identified the victim as Christian, a resident of Barangay Estefania here.
Reclamado said the victim was found with visible injury in his nape. His mouth, hands, and feet were covered with duct tape and a placard was near his body with words suggesting he was a drug pusher.
Police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu from the victim’s pocket but could not confirm if the contraband was owned by the victim or planted by his killers.
Reclamado said the victim might have been killed somewhere and dumped in the area to confuse investigators.
Police have yet to find witnesses or surveillance footages.
The victim was last seen alive with his sibling on Sunday afternoon, June 8, and called his family later that night, before disappearing.
He said the victim worked in a call center firm and was a volunteer in the December Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
Police said the victim had no record of any illegal activities except for a debt complaint.
He said they will investigate if the victim’s debt could be one of the motives in the killing.
Police are waiting for the result of the post-mortem examination that will determine if the victim sustained other injuries.
