COTABATO CITY – A school district supervisor in Maguindanao del Sur who was shot and critically wounded by an assailant on Tuesday afternoon died on Wednesday morning, police said.
Capt. Argie Eyana, police chief of Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur, said Dr. Alamansa Ambiton, a district supervisor for the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) and principal of Sapakan Central Elementary School, passed away in a private hospital.

“He was laid to rest on Wednesday through Islamic rites,” Eyana said in an interview over a local radio station.
Ambiton, 59, was eating lunch in a roadside restaurant in front of the school campus past noontime when he was attacked.
Police investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and identities of the attackers. (PNA)
