2 kids hacked dead in Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – Two children were hacked to death by the live-in partner of their mother due to alleged jealousy on Tuesday, June 10, in Sitio Cayag-ang, Barangay San Pedro, Albuera, Leyte.
The victims, aged four (female), and seven (male), were reportedly sleeping inside their house when a heated argument ensued between their mother and the suspect.
The suspect got an indigenous long-bladed weapon called “sundang” and hacked the
mother and her children in the body.
The suspect fled and victims were taken to a hospital in Ormoc City.
The four-year-old girl was declared dead on arrival while her brother died while being treated.
Their mother who sustained hack wounds is recovering.
Police condemned the crime and are pursuing the suspect.
