An elementary school principal was shot and wounded in Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur on Tuesday morning.

Police identified the victim as Alamansa Ambiton, principal of the Sapakan Central Elementary School.

Investigation said the victim was on his way to each lunch in a store outside the school when gunmen on board a motorcycle appeared and shot him.

The victim sustained bullet wounds but managed to seek police assistance and was taken to a hospital.

Follow-up investigation and manhunt operations are ongoing.
