MPL Philippines Season 15 champion Team Liquid PH and runner-up Onic Philippines aim to end a two-year drought for the country in the 2025 Mid-Season Cup while Athena League’s top two squads in Natus Vincere PH and TLPH’s women’s team seek to defend the crown in the MLBB Women’s Invitational.
The last time a PH team won in the MSC was back in 2022 and both Team Liquid and Onic PH are eager to finally reclaim the throne against 14 other teams from around the globe including squads from Indonesia and Malaysia which reigned supreme in the last two editions of the tournament.
On the distaff side, after ending the reign of Team Vitality of Indonesia in the MWI last year, Filipina squads in NAVI PH and TLPH hope to go back-to-back and establish their own dynasty in the MLBB women’s scene.
And that’s something they are confident to pull off especially with the expected huge support from the overseas Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.
Lalo na’t anonood talaga sila sa venue, parang everywhere we go may mga pinoy sa parang we are not in a country that is far from home,” said NAVI PH EXP laner Gwyeth “Ayanami” Diagon who was with TLPH jungler Trinity “Ramici” Ramos.
The MSC 2025 fires off on July 10 to August 2 with teams fighting for the lion’s share of the USD 3,000,000 prize pool while the MWI 2025 happens simultaneously on July 15 to 20 with a USD 500,000 prize pool.
