Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the distribution of paints and cleaning materials to start renovating classrooms for students in the coming school year, held at the Jose Rizal Elementary School.
Rubiano said students will also be given school materials, bags, and shoes, which is part of the city government's commitment to help students and their families save expenses on their schooling.
She said donating time or effort, and supplies during the conduct of Brigada Eskwela that will run from June 9 to 13, will leave a lasting impact on students and teachers to have a clean and safe environment.
The mayor added that Brigada Eskwela lies not in the volume of repairs, but in the spirit of bayanihan that inspires communities to come together for the future of Filipino learners.
Rubiano also said that participating in the Brigada Eskwela is part of her administration's continuing support for the education of children in Pasay City, in reaching their goals in life.
