The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) advised the public to verify the accreditation of calibration and testing service providers after a firm was found falsely claiming affiliation with the agency.
In an advisory, the DPWH Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) identified Jae-Tech Metrology Services, a firm based in General Mariano Alvarez in Cavite, as not listed in the agency’s official database of accredited private testing laboratories.
The company has reportedly been offering calibration and verification services for force-measuring instruments, weighing scales, temperature devices, and calipers without proper authorization.
The DPWH stressed that only accredited laboratories are authorized to conduct calibration services for government projects to ensure infrastructure quality and public safety.
Contractors, suppliers, and the public are advised to confirm a provider’s accreditation status through the “Business Accreditation” section of the DPWH website at www.dpwh.gov.ph.
The agency also urged the public to report unauthorized entities or suspicious activities involving DPWH-related services through hotline numbers (02) 5317-1358 or (02) 5304-3000 local 42558.
