Kristian Porter is ready to start a new chapter in his basketball career as he joins University of Santo Tomas after a long tenure with the Ateneo basketball program.
Less than a month after leaving the Eagles' nest, the 19-year-old Porter opted to bring his talent to Espana and play for the Growling Tigers who reached the semifinal round in UAAP Season 87.
The 6-foot-5 forward could play a key role for the Pido Jarencio-mentored squad after the departure of big man Mo Tounkara who decided to suit up for Stade Malien in the Basketball Africa League.
The Cebuano cager must serve a one-year residency before he can play for UST in Season 89.
Porter averaged 6.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest in the previous tournament for the Blue Eagles, who ended up last with a 4-10 slate.
Porter teams up with Nic Cabañero and Forthsky Padrigao, who was also a former Atenean, along with Amiel Acido, Kyle Paranda, Gelo Crisostomo, and Mark Llemit.
