CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 is eyeing the deployment of 2,000 police personnel to ensure peaceful and orderly opening of classes under “Ligtas Balik-Eskwela” in the Caraga region on Monday, June 16.

“PRO 13-Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano wanted that students, teacher, and parents are secure and safe during the opening of classes and school period,” PRO-13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.

Ometer said police officers “shall assist or if possible help the traffic management operations for smooth road way, especially in different main thoroughfares.”
Abrahano ordered all unit commanders to attend coordination meetings with the Department of Education (DepEd), local government units (LGUs), Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs), volunteer groups, and other concerned line agencies of the government for the opening of classes.
Provincial police offices and the Metro Butuan City Police Office will conduct simultaneous exercises in coordination with school authorities on possible incidents such as bomb threats, fire, earthquakes, and other related scenarios.
“We will secure and protect our learning institutions, including students, teachers, and parents from criminals and would-be criminals,” said Abrahano.
“Our police units will intensify the crime prevention approach, police visibility, law enforcement operations, and police-community partnership for Ligtas Balik Eskwela.”
