Chinese national caught trying to steal phone in Parañaque City

Authorities from the Parañaque City Police Tambo Substation arrested a Chinese national for allegedly attempting to steal a cellular phone inside a spa salon on June 7.

The Southern Police District said the suspect, identified as Su, 25, was apprehended at around 8:40 a.m. inside Emgrand SPA on Brandco Avenue, Barangay Tambo.

Police said the victim, alias “Mary,” 26, was having breakfast with her cousin when Sue approached them.

Mary told police that the suspect immediately took her cellular phone, which had been placed on their table.

She said Su attempted to unlock her cellular phone using facial recognition, prompting her to shout for help.

Establishment security swiftly responded and called for police assistance, leading to Su's arrest.

The suspect was brought to the Paranaque City Police Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) for investigation and the filing of theft charges.
