The troika of Alyssa Solomon, Angel Canino and Bella Belen fueled the Filipina spikers with double-digit productions to stay undefeated in their bracket.
It was also a fitting follow-up from their straight-set triumph over Mongolia the other day.
Canino continued to impress by firing 17 points built on 13 kills, three aces and one block even and Solomon unleashed her might with an all-around game of 10 attacks, four blocks and three aces to finish with identical 17 points.
Three-time UAAP MVP Belen was equally impressive by unloading 12 points.
The Filipina spikers’ victory overshadowed the efforts of Ersandrina Devega, who sizzled with 22 points in a losing effort for the Indonesians, and Ajeng Viona Adelea, who contributed 21 points.
Up next for the PH team is Iran on Monday, June 9, which is currently battling New Zealand.
