The Solar Spikers are taking this huge advantage with high hopes of boosting their crop in their bid to turn things around following a forgettable 11th place finish in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference a few months ago.
Draft begins at 7 p.m. with a total of 57 prospects composed of collegiate standouts and overseas-trained athletes also hoping to make it to the pro ranks.
Headlining the draft class is National University standout Bella Belen, a three-time Most Valuable Player who also boasts of being the first woman to win Rookie-MVP in the UAAP in 2022.
Now under Brazilian coach Jorge Souza de Brito, who recently filled in the shoes of veteran mentor Roger Gorayeb, Capital1 seeks to erase the stigma of winning only one game in 11 matches last conference. Their best finish is a seventh place showing the 2024 Reinforced.
Other notable prospects are AC Miner, Tia Andaya, Alohi Robins-Hardy, Alleiah Malaluan, Jyne Soreño, Erin Pangilinan, Pia Abbu, Sheena Toring, Chenie Tagaod, Jean Asis, Riza Nogales and Mycah Go.
Galeries Tower will pick second, followed by Farm Fresh and Nxled, who complete the four-team lottery draw. The remainder of the first round will see ZUS Coffee, Cignal, Choco Mucho, Chery Tiggo, PLDT, Akari, Petro Gazz, and Creamline make their selections in that order.
In the succeeding round, the Chameleons will have the first pick, followed by the Solar Spikers, Foxies, and Highrisers, with the rest of the order unchanged.
