- Over 350,000 customers of the water utility firm are currently experiencing water service interruption in parts of Manila, southern Metro Manila, and several areas in Cavite.
Several areas in the City of Manila are experiencing temporary water service interruption, which is expected to last until Sunday, June 8, as Maynilad rushes to repair a major pipeline that was accidentally damaged in Tondo.
According to Maynilad, a 2.2-meter diameter primary pipeline, located along Nicolas Zamora Street in Tondo, was hit by a third-party contractor during the construction of the New Pritil Market.
The interruption began on Friday and may last up to 20 hours per day in some parts of the city as repair crews work to fix the damaged line.
Among the affected areas in Manila are:
- Tondo
- Sampaloc
- Sta. Cruz
- Portions of Ermita and Malate
Maynilad has deployed water tankers to key locations and is coordinating with barangay officials to help distribute water to heavily impacted communities, especially those with hospitals, schools, and high-density residential zones.
Residents are advised to conserve water and monitor Maynilad’s official channels for further announcements.
