K-pop girl group ILLIT released a brand film on June 5 for their upcoming third mini-album “bomb.”
The “bomb” brand film, uploaded on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel, unlocks their inner magic to uplift the world through positivity.
The visualizer embodies ILLIT’s bold and candid identity, while also serving as a music video for bomb’s B-side track, “little monster.”
The track uses “monsters” as a metaphor for stressors like anxiety, depression, and sadness, featuring lyrics about eating away those inner “monsters.”
ILLIT’s vocals deliver a tickling joy that lingers in listeners’ ears.
The brand film breathes life to the track’s playful metaphor with striking visuals and a whimsical atmosphere. It opens with ILLIT trapped within surrounding walls—symbolizing mental barriers—until they awaken to devour “little monsters” portrayed in the form of jelly. This allows the girls to shatter the walls and fly into the sky, transforming into enchanting magical girls.
For the girls, magic represents believing in their own potential. Their bold charms shine through as they confront their negative feelings within and re-enter the reality with courage and burning passion.
The video culminates with Minju’s powerful statement, “Remember the magic inside you,” as she confidently steps into a wider world, embracing the boundless possibilities ahead.
Meanwhile, ILLIT’s debut single “Magnetic” surpassed 600 million Spotify streams on May 25, setting a new record for the fastest debut song by a K-pop group to reach this breakthrough.
A few days later, on May 29, “Cherish (My Love)” from their sophomore album exceeded 100 million streams, marking their third track to reach this number and contributing to their overall total of nearly 1.2 billion streams.
“Bomb” will be released at 6 p.m. KST (5 p.m. Philippine time) on June 16.
