11-year-old Filipino skater advances to World Tour quarterfinals

Wunderkind Mazel Paris Alegado showed brilliance and barged into the quarterfinal round of the 2025 World Skateboarding Tour in Ostia, Italy.

The Fontana, California native accumulated a total of 65.20 points in her three runs to secure the 24th spot in the Women’s Open list where she is one of the youngest participants.

The 11-year-old Alegado would have enough time to perfect her craft as the quarters ist set next Friday, June 13.

She is also the lone Filipina bet in the series that will take place across Italy, Japan and USA within this year and features up-and-coming stars in the park event.

Almost two years ago, the country’s skateboarding prodigy made a historic appearance in the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games where she was the youngest member of the Filipino contingent at the age of 9.
