Around P8.4 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants were destroyed by anti-narcotics authorities during a two-day operation in Kalinga province, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday, June 5.
In a statement, the PDEA said that 42,000 fully-grown marijuana plants were torched in Barangay Buscalan, Tinglayan town on June 3 to 4.
The PDEA-Cordillera Kalinga Provincial Office and the local police discovered the marijuana plantation in an approximately 2,800 square meter single plot.
The anti-narcotics agents uprooted and burned the marijuana plants on site but no cultivator was arrested during the operation.
