The Paris Olympics double gold medalist scored 83.633 points to finish behind eventual gold medalist Oka Shinnosuke and silver winner Hasegawa Tsuyoshi, both from Japan.
Shinnosuke, the reigning all-around Olympic champion, garnered 85.134 points while Tsuyoshi posted 83.967.
Yulo, who claimed the all-around silver in the previous edition held in Singapore in 2023, banked on his top performance in his pet event, the floor exercise, where he posted 14.433. He finished second in vault (14.450), fourth in parallel bars (14.167), seventh in rings (13.633), 10th in horizontal bar (13.800) and 19th in pommel horse (13.100).
Except in pommel horse, Yulo qualified in all apparatus finals.
John Ivan Cruz, meanwhile, qualified in the vault final after finishing seventh with 13.550.
Yulo also spearheaded the team composed of Cruz, Juancho Miguel Besana, Justine Ace De Leon and Jhon Romero Santillan for a seventh-place finish in the team final with a total score of 228.026. They accumulated scores of 39.499 in floor exercise, 35.099 in pommel horse, 37.365 in rings, 42.199 in vault, 37.298 in parallel bars and 36.566 in horizontal bar.
Japan won the gold with 252.993, while China (248.262) and Kazakhstan (240.295) grabbed silver and bronze, respectively.
Apparatus finals in rings, pommel horse and floor exercise are set Saturday, June 7, while vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar finals are on Sunday, June 8.
