ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two soldiers were injured and robbed of their firearms in a road mishap here on Thursday, June 5.

The victims, Army Corporal Juner Vally, driver of the vehicle; and Staff Sgt. Tiyamuat Alrasid, were cruising on the highway in Barangay Calarian when the vehicle rammed an electric post.
Three more electric posts toppled down and the vehicle crashed into the concrete fence of a private cemetery.
They sustained multiple injuries and were taken to a hospital.
Police are investigating the incident and reports that an unidentified man robbed the victims of their firearms while they were unconscious.
The vehicle, which sustained massive damage, was towed to the police station as part of the investigation.
Police are also investigating the possibility that Vally was intoxicated during the incident.
