Young girl reveals sexual assault by father, uncles in Caloocan

A young girl confided to her mother that she had been sexually assaulted by her father and uncles in Caloocan City.
According to the Northern Police District-Special Operations Unit (NPD-SOU), the child's father was listed as one of the Department of the Interior and Local Government's most wanted persons.
NPD-SOU chief Lt. Col. Alain Licdan said the father was apprehended in Barangay 178 after months of surveillance. 
His arrest came following an incident in which the girl was caught by her teachers engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with another girl.
After the school contacted the mother, the child disclosed the abuse, revealing that it had been ongoing for some time. Initially, she remained silent for fear of retaliation.
Police said the abuse occurred during visits to her grandmother's house in Caloocan. The first assault occurred when the girl's aunt, who was taking care of her, was at the market, leaving the father and uncles alone with the child. On several occasions, the father was the first to sexually abuse her, followed by the uncles.
Authorities arrested the father with the help of an informant. 
Investigators found out that he had been hiding in Manila, frequently changing jobs to evade arrest, and only visiting his mother’s home in Caloocan once a month. The suspect denied the accusations. 
The arrested suspect will face rape, acts of lasciviousness and sexual abuse charges, police said. 
Authorities have withheld the name of the suspect.
