Pinay gymnast cops two golds in Singapore meet

Filipina gymnast Tchelzy Mei Maayo made waves for Team Philippines after copping two gold medals in the 2025 Singapore Open at the Bishan Sports Hall recently.
The 13-year-old Maayo ruled the junior 13-under all-around event in artistic gymnastics where she amassed a total score of 44.966 points after her impressive performances in vault, uneven bars, beam and floor exercise.
Hometown bets Zara Law (44.833 points) and Annika Sy (41.432) settled for silver and bronze, respectively.
Maayo's second gold came in vault where she outshone Law and Sy for the top honors. She also bagged silver medals in floor exercise and balance beam.
Pamela Suan also delivered a silver medal in balance beam (Level 6), while Safiya Schoof finished seventh in vault of the same category.
The two-week tournament also featured rising stars across the region who are vying in the Rhythmic and Trampoline Gymnastics.
