Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) seized around P450,000 worth of high-grade marijuana following the arrest of a suspected drug peddler in a buy-bust in Marikina City on Tuesday night, June 3.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said the 30-year old suspect was listed in the street-level individual watchlist and was arrested after he was encouraged to sell marijuana and marijuana oil to a police poseur buyer.
“The instruction of the Chief PNP, Gen. Nicolas Torre III is clear and unambiguous: Go hard against drug personalities without relent, swiftly arrest them, provide solid evidence to prove their guilt, and ensure that they are convicted and rot in jail,” said Aberin.
“This will be the direction NCRPO will carefully trudge with due regard to the law and the Police Operational Procedures,” he added.
Earlier, President Marcos tasked the PNP to focus also on street-level drug pushing after a series of successful operations against high-value targets.
Aberin his men seized seven sachets of suspected kush marijuana; 12 vacuum-sealed packs of suspected marijuana oil; 10 disposable cartridges containing suspected marijuana oil; 10 medium-sized vacuum-sealed packs of suspected kush; one white box; and ₱1,000 marked buy-bust money.
Initial valuation placed the confiscated marijuana at approximately 300 grams, valued at ₱450,000.00, while the 22 milliliters of marijuana oil were pegged at ₱1,320.00.
“ The recovered evidence has been submitted to the Eastern Police District Forensic Unit in Mandaluyong City for laboratory examination while the arrested suspect is currently detained at the Marikina City Police Station Custodial Facility,” said Aberin.
