ILOILO CITY – The construction of the new government center for the province of Antique is 55 percent complete, Engr. Vincent Ron Encarnacion of the Provincial Engineer’s Office reported to Gov. Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao.
Among the finished work is the installation of rebars for the ground floor and the roof deck to allow cement to be poured.

The government center in a 6.4-hectare lot in the capital of San Jose de Buenavista will house the new Antique provincial capitol that will replace the existing 60-year-old capitol.
It was originally scheduled to be completed in September but was moved to December.
Encarnacion said heavy rains delayed completion.
Construction could still be delayed if heavy rainfall occurs in the next five months, he said.
This would be the last major project of Cadiao as governor. She has served three consecutive terms and lost her congressional bid.
The present capitol was constructed in 1957 during the time of Gov. Josue Cadiao, her father.
