BFP: Viral post on hiring of teachers as 'Fire Inspector' absolutely false
By Chito Chavez
The viral post on the hiring of professional teachers with Fire Inspector positions “is unofficial and inaccurate,’’ the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) clarified on Wednesday, June 4.
The BFP issued the warning amid circulating social media post that such position is available to professional teachers through “lateral entry.’’
A Fire Inspector position has a monthly salary of P49,528.
“We do not support or endorse the sharing of unofficial information related to our recruitment, promotion, or placement processes,’’ the BFP insisted.
Further, the BFP asserted that the post “did not originate from any of our official platforms and should not be regarded as reliable.’’
For the filling of the 270 vacant positions for Fire Officer 1 (FO1), the BFP National Headquarters officially announced the opening of the “recruitment and selection process’’ for the post on June 4.
The BFP said that applicants for the position of FO1 must have a Bachelor’s Degree, must be between 21 to 30 years old, at least 5 feet 2 inches in height for male and 5 feet in height for female applicants.
It added that the weight of the applicant must not be more than or less than the five kilograms of the standard weight corresponding to their height, age and sex.
