The burglars may have been able to enter the establishment by making a hole on the wall, police said.
Police Lt. Col. Mercy Villaro, information officer of the Mandaue City Police Office, said the stolen money was the whole day proceeds of the pharmacy.
The money was kept in a vault destroyed by the burglars.
The burglars also tried to ransack an automated teller machine inside the pharmacy but they were not able to break the vault, Villaro said.
Villaro said it was possible that three to five persons were involved in the burglary.
Police are conducting further investigation to possibly identify the thieves.
