Through Administrative Order No. 33 dated May 21, Marcos emphasized that the successful hosting of the event requires the involvement and support of all concerned agencies. Thus, he formed the task force composed of heads of 12 agencies.
The task force will be composed of the heads of Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), departments of Education, Foreign Affairs, Health, Information and Communications Technology, Interior and Local Government, Public Works and Highways, Tourism, Transportation, Immigration, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
The BSP will serve as the secretariat of the task force.
The chairperson and members of the task force may designate their respective alternates, with ranks not lower than assistant secretary or its equivalent, who shall be fully authorized to decide for or on their behalf.
The task force may also invite other concerned government agencies, as well as non-government organizations (NGOs), civil society groups, the academe, and other stakeholders as observers and/or resource persons to aid in the performance of the functions of the task force.
Under the order, the task force shall support the BSP in the formulation and implementation of programs, activities and projects, as well as in the organization and management of the requirements for the hosting of the 33rd APRSJ.
It must also ensure coordination and collaboration with other departments, bureaus, offices, agencies and instrumentalities of the government, including government-owned or-controlled corporations (GOCCs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs), for the preparation, organization, and hosting of the event.
The Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree, organized by the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, is a major scouting event in the Asia-Pacific region.
It aims to provide an opportunity for scouts aged 12 to 17 years old to experience fellowship of world scouting in a fun and learning environment.
It will be held on Dec. 14 to 21 this year at Kainomayan Scout Camp in Botolan, Zambales, with the theme "Be Prepared: Scouts for Peace and Sustainable Development."
