GOSSIP GIRL: Michele Gumabao enjoying married life

“It’s not that I am adjusting to married life. I love being married to Aldo (Panlilio)! It’s just that after our wedding, it was the mid-season of our volleyball games, so I had to finish that. I am thankful that my husband is also a sportsperson, being the strength and conditioning coach to the San Miguel Beermen, he understands my work," Michelle Gumabao tells Gossip Girl at the Ninoy Aquino Domestic Airport before the spiker to the Creamline Volleyball team left for the Bicol Kaogmahan Festival. 

The daughter of actor Dennis Roldan was invited to judge the Kaogmahon pageant, as she is also a beauty queen, having been crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe in 2018. I was also on my way to Naga to host a birthday event. I was able to chat with Michelle while we were waiting for our boarding.

“After our March wedding in Baguio, I had to leave him for a month for our volleyball season, and right after our season ended, I had to fly to CamSur to help my brother in his campaign to become the representative of the fourth district of Camarines Sur. Though he did not win, I would like to thank everyone who helped support his bid to become a congressman. It was a close fight, and it was his first time. Nevertheless, he fought well and clean, and he has accepted that it is not yet his time. But he would love to serve the people in the future," says Michelle about his brother, television and movie actor Marco Gumabao. 

The beauty queen-celebrity volleyball player says that her husband is not that lonely when she leaves him to play for the season because they have five dogs to keep him company – Rain, Luna,  Rainbow, Sky, and Cloud. 

They are also in the process of opening a coffee bar in Poblacion, which serves coffee during the day and transforms into a bar at night. They will call it Tree House. With everything that is going on in her life, I asked Michele if having kids is far from the plan.

“Eventually, we will, we will let God decide on the timing. But for now, we are enjoying our careers and several budding businesses. My teammates and I also opened a KFC, and I plan to host summer volleyball camps this summer for high school and college volleyball aspirants. Just check the accounts for the announcements. My Instagram account is @gumabaomichele, and my Facebook account is Michele Gumabao. I will announce my volleyball camps there.”
So I checked her Facebook and Instagram accounts. This young lady boasts a total of 2.8 million subscribers across both social media platforms, 1.1 million subscribers on Instagram, and 1.7 million followers on Facebook. She is an inspiration to the youth.
