Christine Juliane Opiaza crowned as Miss Grand International 2024: 'This is a historic win for the Philippines'

Filipina beauty queen Christine Juliane 'CJ' Opiaza had her main character moment recently being crowned the newest Miss Grand International at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand.
Before heading to the stage, moments from her Miss Grand International pageant journey was flashed onscreen.
As the loud cheers of Pinoy fans filled the room, CJ walked onto stage wearing a stunning green and gold gown.
CJ's fellow MGI queens were also present during the momentous event.
The Filipina beauty queen can't help but feel emotional as she waved to her fans, blowing them kisses.
She was joined onstage by MGI President Nawat Itsaragrisil who presented her crown as Miss Grand International 2024.
Arnold Vegafria, who serves as the National Director for Miss Grand International Philippines, was also present during the crowning ceremony.
In her speech, CJ recalled her journey when she competed in the pageant last year.
"I was in the same stage months ago, competing for my country the Philippines, and hoping to make you guys proud and I was able to take the 1st runner-up crown. And I'm grateful to be part of such amazing women from all around the world, and of course to be an International Ambassador to the Miss Grand International Organization," CJ said.
"Before I signed up for this job, I knew I was born ready and now I've been given the challenge and I'm taking that challenge and responsibility to fill duties as your first runner up and now as Miss Grand International 2024," she added.
CJ is honored to wear the crown, maintaining she is ready to face the challenges that will come her way.
"I know this moment is sudden, there's a moment of transition and change. But that's how we grow as individuals, and that's how we win in life. There are different versions of winning, but this is my golden moment, and this is a historic win for the Philippines," CJ said.
CJ ended her speech speaking in Tagalog thanking all her fans who supported her from the beginning up to now as the newest MGI queen.
"Mabuhay sa lahat ng mga Pilipino, maraming salamat po sa pagpunta. Ganun rin po ang supporta na binigay niyo sa akin simula ngayon hanggang ngayon. Kahit nasaang akong entablado naririnig ko ang mga boses niyo at ganun kagalak ang puso ko na makita kayong lahat ngayon." CJ said.
"Para ito sa bansang Pilipinas, para ito sa Miss Grand Organization and we will continue the legacy that Miss Grand International has cemented over the years. I am Christine Juliane Opiaza from the Philippines, your Miss Grand International 2024."
CJ is set to have a homecoming parade on June 8.
