Castro gives a serious warning to 'Duterte's cult' in Senate

ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro has warned pro-Duterte senators—whom she called "kulto ni Duterte" (Duterte's cult)'—against blocking the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Castro said on Tuesday, June 3 that the Filipino people will "destroy them" if they attempt to stop the impeachment proceedings of Vice President.
Castro's remark came amid reports that 11 senators led by Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero were either looking to block the conduct of the trial or acquit Duterte.
"Ito ba yung kulto ni Duterte na mga nanalo na sa Senado? (Is this Duterte's cult, the ones who won seats in the Senate?)" she said when asked about her opinion on these senators.
"Well, itong pwersa na ito tingin ko taumbayan ang pupuksa sa inyo, doon sa ginagawa nyong pag-dedelay at doon sa balakin nyong wag ituloy ang impeachment at proteksyunan si VP Sara Duterte (Well, I think the people will destroy this force, as they attempt to delay and block the impeachment process and protect the Vice President)," Castro said in an ambush interview.
Castro, in a press conference, also challenged Escudero as well as incumbent and incoming senators to serve the public and not a specific person or family.
"With due respect sa ating Senate President, si ang tanong ko dito sino ba yung pinoproteksyunan mo... 'yung taumbayan ba o si Sara Duterte? (With due respect to our Senate President, my question is who are you protecting? The people or Sara Duterte?)" she said.
"Kaya mag isip-isip kayo 'no. Sino ang prinoproteksyunan lalo na yung mga nanalong senador sa nakaraang eleksyon? (So, you people should think. Who are the winning senators from the past election protecting?)" she added.
Vice President Duterte is the eldest daughter of ex-president Rodrigo Duterte.
