1,088 policemen tapped to secure school opening in Northern Mindanao

BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-10 has tapped 1,088 policemen to secure the school opening in Northern Mindanao on June 16.
“Safety of the students, parents, and school personnel are among our priorities during the opening and school period in the different schools in the region,” PRO 10-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Joann G. Navarro said.
PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen C. de Guzman directed all provincial and city police Offices to deploy maximum number of personnel in key areas such as schools, transport terminals, airports, seaports, malls, business centers, and other areas of convergence.
“Our priority is to provide a safe and secure environment for our students as they return to school,” De Guzman said.
“We are mobilizing our personnel not just for visibility, but also to be ready to respond to any untoward incidents.”
De Guzman urged community cooperation for peace and order during the school opening.
“I am urging the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station,” he said, adding “With your help, we can ensure that our children are safe as they pursue their education.”
Meanwhile, the PRO-10 declared that the summer vacation in Northern Mindanao was generally peaceful.
No major incidents disrupting the region’s peace and order were reported.
