P-pop Kings SB19 showcased their talent during the first night of the "Simula at Wakas" World Tour held at the Philippine Arena on May 31, presented by Live Nation.
The second night of the concert was held on June 1.Stepping into one of their biggest concerts yet, the A'tins did not disappoint as they filled the sold-out arena with their lightsticks and loudest cheers as they waited for the group to perform.
Before hitting the stage, the fans got a treat as they did a little karaoke with the songs of SB19 flashing on the screen. To make the concert even more exciting, the fans did a wave holding their lights.
At 7:30 pm, the lights went dim, and the crowd went wild as the show was about to start. Marking "Simula At Wakas" as their new era, the group, consisting of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, has proven their eagerness to grow as artists.
With the visually appealing stage and graphics directed by Paolo Valenciano, the boys kicked off the concert with the song "What," showing off their powerful performance on stage. SB19 has shown that the concert is worth the wait.
It was then followed by one of their earliest songs, "Mana," and another fan favorite, "Gento," which has gained over a million streams online.
I've been covering SB19-related events, but seeing them perform for the first time in a concert is indeed a bucket list item for me because they know how to put up a fantastic show.
Showing no signs of slowing down, the boys went on with the slower version of their single "Moonlight," followed by "I Want You" and their version of "Golden Hour."
Before heading on the second set of the concert, the group was overwhelmed by the loudest cheers given by the fans at the arena.
"Mas dinoble po yung paghahanda para ma-pull off yung concert kaya thank so much for giving us the motivation and inspiration para laging ibigay yung best namin. (The preparations have been doubled to successfully pull off the concert, so we are very grateful for your continuous motivation and inspiration that always encourages us to give our best)," Justin said.
It was a history in the making as the boys recalled their past concerts at the Araneta Coliseum, and they had a sold-out show. Moving on to the second set of the concert, SB19 went on whole grove as they danced and sang along to "WYAT," "Dunka" from their newly released EP, and my personal favorite, "Bazinga," which I went full-on fangirl while they were performing it, and "8Tonball."
But aside from all the energetic songs, during the concert, Josh couldn't help but feel emotional as he shared that it was the first time that his father was going to watch him perform.
"For the first time mapapanood na po ako ng papa ko finally, so totoo lang hindi ko po alam kung paano ko ipeperform ang kantang ito sa harap niya. (For the first time, my dad will finally be able to watch me, so to be honest, I don't know how I'm going to perform this song in front of him)," Josh said.
After Josh's emotional message, the group went on and performed "MAPA," followed by "Nyebe," "Time," and "Quit." The two-hour concert ended with another fan-favorite song, such as "Shooting for the Stars," "Freedom," "SLMT," and "Dam."
Following an electrifying two-day show at the Philippine Arena on May 31 and June 1, SB19 will stage concerts in Taiwan, California, Canada, and Hawaii.
