A heavy vehicle’s violation of a temporary restriction on a key bridge in the Cordillera region has prompted the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to warn of serious threats to both public safety and the bridge’s structural integrity.
The DPWH–Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) stressed that the restriction was implemented to protect the temporary bridge—an alternate route—from further damage and to ensure the safety of motorists and commuters.
Condemning the breach, the agency emphasized that ignoring the advisory endangers lives and undermines crucial safety measures meant to protect the community.
“Disregarding this advisory not only puts the infrastructure at risk but also endangers motorists and commuters,” the DPWH-CAR said, pledging to coordinate with authorities to hold violators accountable.
The regional office reminded drivers and operators of heavy vehicles that these restrictions are mandatory safety protocols essential for safeguarding local communities.
“These measures are not mere suggestions—they are necessary to uphold safety and accountability on our roads,” the agency added, urging strict compliance and collective responsibility among all road users.
