Up to 33 areas across the country may experience a dangerous heat index on Monday, June 2, with the highest possibly reaching 46°C, based on the latest forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Echague, Isabela may record the highest heat index at 46°C.
Three areas, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; and Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte, follow at 45°C.
Meanwhile, four areas may register 44°C: Infanta, Quezon; Alabat, Quezon; Daet, Camarines Norte; and Masbate City, Masbate.
Eleven more areas may record a heat index of 43°C: Aparri, Cagayan; Baler, Aurora; Casiguran, Aurora; Coron, Palawan; Juban, Sorsogon; Roxas City, Capiz; Mambusao, Capiz; Catarman, Northern Samar; Catbalogan, Western Samar; Tacloban City, Leyte; and Borongan, Eastern Samar.
An additional 14 areas may register 42°C: Calayan, Cagayan; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Cuyo, Palawan; Legazpi City, Albay; Virac, Catanduanes; Pili, Camarines Sur; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Dumangas, Iloilo; Siquijor, Siquijor; Maasin, Southern Leyte; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur; HInatuan, Surigao del Sur; and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
PAGASA classifies heat index values between 42°C and 51°C as “dangerous,” due to an increased risk of heat cramps and heat exhaustion.
Prolonged exposure may also lead to heatstroke, particularly among vulnerable individuals, such as children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions.
