PDEA: P1.08B worth of illegal drugs seized in week-long operations

Around P1.08 billion worth of illegal drugs was seized during a nationwide operations carried out by the various government anti-narcotics agents from May 23 to 30, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Sunday, June 1.
In a statement PDEA said a total of 63 anti-illegal drug operations during the period including buy-busts and marijuana eradication.
The operations led to the arrest of 91 drug personalities, which included 41 drug pushers, 27 drug den visitors/clients, 12 drug den owners/maintainers, five drug den employees, two possessors, one courier and one importer.
In the category of confiscated illegal drugs, the law enforcement agents seized 156,407.80 grams of shabu, 80.94 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 5,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks and 61,662 pieces of marijuana plants.
PDEA Director General Isagani R. Nerez underscored the significance of these achievements, saying that “these accomplishments are a testament to PDEA’s ongoing commitment to excellence, integrity, and service in law enforcement.’’
