BACOLOD CITY – A missing 19-year-old man was found dead in Purok 1, Barangay Camansi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, May 31.

The remains of the victim, who was last seen alive by his family on May 5, were discovered by a 57-year-old laborer collecting firewood.
Police Capt. Sammy Gasataya, deputy chief of the Kabankalan City Police Station, said the victim’s 43-year-old father positively identified him through his T-shirt, shorts, and slippers.
The victim would usually leave their house or stay in a relative’s house and return anytime.
His family reported him missing to the barangay when he failed to return home on May 5.
Police said the victim was once heard talking to himself and the victim’s family believe that he was suffering from depression.
Gasataya said the victim’s family has accepted his death.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
