“Arman, 67, a father with knife that ran berserk, was subdued by our responding policemen, but three of our responders were injured," Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer, chief of Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) of the Police Regional Office-13, said.
“But, despite of their injuries, they were able to subdue and arrest the suspect,” Ometer said. “All the family members now were safe.”
The suspect was taken to the Bunawan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. “The suspect will be charged with direct assault upon persons in authority,” Ometer added.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano awarded the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting to the three policemen who were taken to the Valentina Galido Plaza Memorial Hospital in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – Police Executive Master Sgt. Ronaldremy L. Abastillas, Police Master Sgt. Frank Ayop Cercado, and Police Corporal Rysan Buhawe Dalayap.
Abrahano also provided financial assistance to the police officers.
"I commend the swift response and bravery of our personnel in the face of danger,” Abrahano said. “We will ensure they receive the necessary assistance as they recover."
